Explain and tackle Chinese intellectual property issues in intensely practical, "how-to" and commercial style.
About Me
I am a dually qualified Chinese lawyer and patent/trademark attorney. I currently head up the intellectual property practice at the China office of Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP (formerly Wragge & Co LLP), a major UK law firm providing a full service to clients worldwide.
I joined Wragge & Co in 2008 and has been the head of the intellectual property practice of its China office since that date. Prior to that, I was a senior patent attorney at China Sinda, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in Beijing. I have handled all aspects of IPR in business including drafting, prosecution, acquisition, enforcement and licensing of patents, trade marks and brand, design rights, copyright and content. I have conducted litigation and administrative sanctions against infringers all over China. I also have a strong background in the chemistry and life science sector, with a bachelor’s degree from Beijing and a PhD degree in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester.
In addition to my focus on intellectual property law, I have experience working in both major Chinese and English law firms, advising on various corporate and commercial matters and facilitating understanding across different legal systems.
I am the chair of the Legal Forum of the British Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, the vice chairman of the IPR committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in South China, and an IP expert at the European IPR SME Helpdesk. I have been a featured speaker at several intellectual property conferences, been mentioned as a recognised IP professional by The Lawyer, and has had articles published in the Chinese Patent Agency, China-Britain Business Council IPR Edition, etc.
I am the author of the book: “Chinese Intellectual Property – A Practitioner’s Guide”, Chinese Intellectual Property Publishing House, January 2013, ISBN 9787513017138
